Traditional German cookies that are easy to make and super delicious.
Makes about 75 cookies
Total time: 45 min.
Bake time: 12-15 min. per batch
- 200 g flour
- 75 g starch
- 200 g butter
- 2 egg yolks
- 80 g sugar
- 2 ground vanilla beans
- 100 g of ground almonds/almond flour
- 125 g powdered sugar
- butter for the baking sheet
- 1 tsp salt
- mix the flour with the starch, butter, egg yolks, sugar, salt, vanilla, and almond flour to a smooth dough.
- put the dough in the fridge for 30 min.
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees F or 180 degrees C.
- butter two baking/cookie sheets
- take pieces of the dough 3 cm long and roll them into the thickness of a finger.
- Curl them into half circles/moons.
- place them in the oven
- bake for approx. 12-15 min.
- remove the Kipferl from the cookie sheet
- dust with powdered sugar
- let them cool on a cookie sheet
